This time last week, I posted a feature on UK and International wedding film-makers, Mintyslippers. You simply must see it if you haven't yet. Within the feature, I discuss how up until very recently, my perception of wedding videography on the whole was really rather jaded. The video's in my Mintyslippers feature changed all that. And 5 days ago, my perceptions were changed yet further, when my fabulous new friend Mark Niemierko dropped me an email.... "call me when you have a moment, there's something I'd love to share with you...". Mark Niemierko for tho... |

These beautiful images from Belle the Magazine hark back to another time — when sandals were strappy, music was for dancing, the man wooed the woman, and jewelry was exquisitely detailed. You don’t need to know your Art Deco from your Art Nouveau to admire this shoot sent to us by Gideon Photography. Think elements from the early 1900′s, stained glass wedding cakes, a bride wearing a cap veil, glitz, lots of golds and you’re on the right track. Does it get much better? ... |
Filed under: Cakes and CateringWhat better place to bring in the fabulous geometrics and colors of Art Deco than in your wedding cake? The cake itself could be quite simple in design -- even a very large sheet cake would suffice -- if you put the the accent on the colors and patterns. Traced with paper and then painted right on to the fondant, you'd get a striking and dramatic cake worthy of the occasion. On the other hand, if you equate "ornate" with "wedding", you'll be delighted to know that Art Deco did some amazing things with scupture and architecture. In the hands of a talented baker, yo... |

We printed them at a custom size so Brenna could then adhere them to a black backer, paired perfectly with black lined envelopes. They were printed in black on our ivory cotton paper. Check out Brenna’s blog Bomb’s Away for more of her super cool style. {Photos by Bomb’s Away.} ... |

New York and Miami brides, listen up! Today, we're pulling wedding inspiration directly from the architecture around you. Art Deco style, to be exact! Art deco can work anywhere really, but there's certainly two distinct divisions within it. If you prefer black, white and metallic glamour, pull your inspiration from my favorite building in New York... the Chrysler Building. Dramatic and distinct architectural details translate perfectly into cake decorations and even into your accessories! Set up an old, deco-era camera for a unique photo booth and dangle large, antique crystals from anything ... |
