Favor Idea: Two-to-a-box Krispy Kreme donuts! (Wedding Junkie). Pre-order the donuts with your local Krispy Kreme store, and ask about two-for-a-box. If they were packaged that way for the bride in this article, it should be available!... |
I try and eat healthy foods, but my weakness is found in the sugar-coated stickyness that are Krispy Kreme doughnuts. They are just too delicious, and I was a little bummed last year when all eight of Arizona's stores shut down after their parent franchise filed for bankruptcy.Well, I have good news folks, because the store in Mesa is slated to reopen on May 6th, which is next Sunday! There is no way you'll find me fighting those crowds, but I am a little relieved to know that they will be back. For those of you who are super-fans, check out the wedding cake made out of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.... |
Sad news, folks: I went by Krispy Kreme today to get some of their yumminess for my pregnant sister (ok and for me too) and they are not open like they said they would be. They were supposed to reopen this past Sunday, May 6th. I was highly disappointed. There were contractor trucks and it looked like people were working on some stuff inside, so hopefully they will be open for business again soon. Until then, the closest location is in Las Vegas.Several of you have checked the blog specifically for that news, so I didn't want you to make the trek to East Mesa only to find them still closed, lik... |
Image CreditI just read this:'In anticipation of some very late risers, the newlyweds nixed the idea of a fancy farewell brunch and instead prepared half-dozen boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts to give to their guests as they left the reception. After a night of pure celebration, some serious sleep was the perfect party favor.'Read more about the couple's wedding here.Maybe it's because I'm not a morning person but I'm loving this idea. Too bad I didn't read about it before sending out our invitations asking everyone to RSVP to all of our wedding weekend activities, including a farewell brunch! We'... |

So, if I have you craving doughnuts now, head on over to Krispy Kreme for your free doughnut. That’s right, in celebration of this national holiday that is near and dear to their heart, they are giving away free doughnuts al... |

One of my all-time favorite blogs to follow is Cake Wrecks. Every day (except sunday when she posts brilliant pieces of cake art as a wonderful palate cleanser) Jen exposes us to the dark underbelly of professional cake decorating. The misspellings, the unfortunate misuses of air brushing, the ideas that sounded good at the time, the ludicrously literal attempts to follow orders without completely understanding them, and the just plain inept efforts of undertrained minions in many a grocery store bakery. Good times, my friends. Good times. Well, a few days ago, she posted this video from YouTu... |

Filed under: Cakes and CateringIf your idea of heaven is a rich and gooey Krispy Kreme donut, or a rich-with-texture Tim Horton doughnut, then you'll want to skip the traditional wedding cake. And those new-fangled wedding cupcake cakes? Meh. What YOU want is a wedding donut cake! Think of all the types you can have, all the colors, all the glazes, all the flavors. All you need is a fancy stand or two to display them, and you've got your eye-catching reception centerpiece.I'm not sure how you'd do the "cutting-of-the-cake" photo op, but it sure will make feeding each other that first bite dead... |
