Ever since I began planning my wedding, I’ve wanted to create an inspiration board. I’ve seen such amazing ones that other brides and wedding planners have created, and I had even taken a stab at doing one using wedding mag cut-outs once I had pretty much read them all until the pages were falling out. With only four months to go until my wedding, and now that I’ve gotten into blogging, I’ve finally put my mind to it and put one together… drumroll please… My wedding is going to be a beach theme with pops of bright colors such as watermelon pink, orange and lime green. Happy Monday everyone! I hope you are all having a great start to your week. I’ve decided that I really miss doing inspiration boards regularly, so I’m going to be incorporating more of them into the regular content (hopefully you guys like that?!). And rather than coming up with the theme and color palette on my own, I would love to work on boards that help inspire your own weddings! So, if you’re interested in an inspiration board for your wedding, shoot me an email at [weddings at elizabeth anne designs dot com] with the subject “Inspiration Boards”, drop me a line on Facebo... |
A little while ago I got an e-mail from Christine in Canada, and we started chatting via e-mail. She had recently created the inspiration board above and was kind enough to share it with me! Isn't it wonderful? She's planning a black, ivory, and green wedding with punches of red. I am in love with the tea length black bridesmaids dresses with white bouquets...I've been pushing for my girls to get a very similar dress from jcrew & they'll be carrying white flowers for sure. Thanks for sharing, Christine!... |
When I was planning my wedding, inspiration boards were all the rage. An inspiration board is a cumulation of photos you gather that elicit the feeling/look you want to achieve for your day. They help guide decisions and are helpful in showing to vendors (like florists, etc) so that they understand your vision. It is really all about maintaining a vision.Below is the inspiration board I put together during wedding planning and the second is a collage of photos from my wedding. My vision was an all-white winter wedding with lots of branches, candles, romance and elegance. Photo credit: Sewell P... |
I’m not sure how useful or practical inspiration boards are, but they are fun I’ve definitely enjoyed looking at other people’s inspiration boards, and felt the need to attempt my own a little bit ago. Unfortunately, my computer skills are lacking so this was the best I could come up with. Has anyone else tried an inspiration board they want to share? ... |

As a writer/editor, I’m constantly looking for ideas in magazines, television, newspapers and online, so doing the same for wedding inspiration came pretty naturally… maybe too naturally as I now spend waaaay too much time obsessing over other people’s big days and ideas. I started saving dozens of images of flowers, cool decor elements, cakes, dresses, etc… to my computer long before I had a ring on my finger (admit it: you did, too!), but they just kind of sat in random folders that I’d occasionally browse through when I wanted a break from work. Enter the Inspiration Board. Is... |
Here is my very first attempt at making an inspiration board. I went with what I know best… my own wedding. I think it was helpful in bringing together all of the little details and actually seeing if they all mesh the way they do in my head. Ta-da! White Dress: Donna Ricco; Shoes Stuard Weitzman; Ring: Tiffany & Co.; Flowers (wreath, centerpieces and bridesmaid's): Martha; Cake Topper: Ann Wood; Blue Dress: J. Crew; Invitation: Wedding Paper Divas Not perfect… but a good start. ... |
Are you ready for some serious eye candy? Its inspiration board time! It is a beautiful juxtaposition of French elegance and vintage charm. The board reminded me of the famous picture Mainbocher Corset, which was published in a 1939 issue of Vogue. It is one of my favorite prints of all time, sensual and beautiful. But the REAL eye candy of this board are the pink Christian Louboutins at the bottom of the collage. My heart skipped a beat when I saw them. *sigh* Via: Merci ... |
